Oyster Bay Town officials are launching a series of training seminars intended to aid small businesses in the area.
The first informational event in the “Business Success” series is a free seminar on social media to be held at 10 a.m. Feb. 8 at the Jericho Public Library, officials said.
The presentation will include a panel of public relations and Web marketing experts who will explain how best to use Facebook, LinkedIn and other social media to promote a business, officials said.
“The seminars will provide some great ideas to help jump-start your business and create a necessary edge to retain and attract new customers,” Town Supervisor John Venditto said in a statement.
Future events in the series, organized by the town department of economic development, include a seminar on contingency planning (March 14) and one on business finances (April 25), town spokesman Kurt Ludwig said.
Those interested in attending the Feb. 8 seminar can register by calling 516-624-7890 or emailing ecodev@oysterbay-ny.gov.
