Panel to discuss ‘life after high school’

A panel including a college official, high school guidance counselors, a bank officer and a recent college graduate will discuss in a forum Wednesday at Commack High School strategies for post-high school success.

The discussion, “Life After High School: Expert Tips to Help You Thrive,” sponsored by the Smithtown Youth Bureau, is geared toward students in grades 10-12. It will start at 7 p.m. at the high school’s Little Theater.

Topics will include academics, social relationships, health and finances. Among the panelists will be Hauppauge and Commack school district guidance counselors, a psychotherapist, a business development specialist from Bethpage Federal Credit Union, a recent graduate of Stony Brook University and an associate dean at Suffolk County Community College. The moderator will be Smithtown League of Women Voters vice president Lisa Scott.
