The Patchogue-Medford Library was recently presented with $153,970, part of a $14-million state capital fund for public library construction.
Assemb. Dean Murray (R-East Patchogue) presented the check to the library at a ceremony last week.
“Libraries are one of our most important public educational and cultural resources,” Murray said in a news release. “The Patchogue-Medford Library has shown time and again how they are an integral part of the fabric of our community. Providing this funding to improve their infrastructure is essential to ensuring they continue to operate and serve our area. This grant is money well invested that will reap dividends for generations to come.”
The grant is intended for work on the electrical and plumbing systems, HVAC replacement and reconfiguration of the children's section of the library.
