Phone service at the North Ridge Primary School in Commack was restored Tuesday morning after an outage likely caused by the weather, a spokeswoman said.
An e-mail to residents about the outage was sent out about 8:30 a.m. by Principal Katherine Rihm.
Brenda Lentsch, a spokeswoman for the Commack School District, said Rihm noticed the service was out when she arrived at school about 7:30 a.m. Since school was closed for Martin Luther King Day, it’s unclear how long service was out.
Lentsch said the service was restored by about 9:30 a.m., just before school started.
“It was probably a weather-related event,” she said.
