Preserved greeting cards provide a glimpse of the past

Need some inspiration to start writing out those holiday greeting cards?

Check out The East Hampton Historical Society’s website to see how it was done in the days before email and family-photo cards.

The historical society posted 10 photos of Christmas cards dated from 1907 to 1915 and addressed to residents in East Hampton. Under each card is a description of from when and where the card was sent and the message written by the sender.

According to the historical society’s website, the entire collection, “Holiday Cards from the Past,” will also be featured in one of the historical society’s museums in the near future.

See the collection here.
