Rain returns to Long Island

Heavy rains very early Monday morning will give way to cloudy skies during the rest of the day.

Temperatures will be mild, approaching 60 degrees in many places.

The chance of showers lingers into Tuesday morning, with a sharp cold front expected to bring rain and even some thunderstorms later in the day.
