Recycle your Christmas tree in Glen Cove
Glen Cove residents taking down their Christmas trees can benefit the environment in more ways than one by participating in the annual Chip-A-Tree program, 9 a.m. to noon on Jan. 8 at Morgan Park on Germaine Street.
Glen Cove Beautification Commission volunteers will accept trees for chipping and recycle them into garden mulch for the city’s Adopt-A-Spots program. In return, donors will receive a sapling tree. Hot cocoa, warm cider, coffee and cookies will be available for residents.
Residents can also drop off their trees before Jan. 8; for information about that option, residents should call 516-676-5188.
