Asharoken Police Chief Ray Mahdesian said a break in a 12-inch water main on Asharoken Avenue should be fixed by the Suffolk County Water Authority by 10 p.m.

Utility crews working to repair telephone poles along Asharoken Avenue apparently hit the water main, causing a flood. The line is the only source of water for residents in Asharoken and Eatons Neck.
