Riverhead Town's Wildlife Management Committee plans to hold a lottery for people who want to hunt deer on specific town-owned properties — including parts of the Enterprise Park at Calverton — Monday at 7 p.m. in Town Hall.

The winners get exclusive rights to hunt on a parcel of town land on a specific day during the state’s gun-hunting season, which runs from Jan. 6 to 31. Hunting is from sunrise to sunset, and no firearms deer hunting is allowed on weekends, according to state regulations.

The lottery is open to town residents and to people who own property in the town. Those who want to take part must be present and must have a valid ID and state hunting license.
