The Rockville Centre Village board of trustees has approved a $35,000 contract to analyze emissions from village’s power plant, according to the village’s Superintendent of Electric, Paul Pallace.

Pallace said the analysis, to be performed by Meteorological Evaluation Services Co., is required to determine if the power plant meets Clean Air Act specifications, a requirement to renew its operating permit.

The village must renew its permit every five years, Pallace said.
