Bands playing music by Rod Stewart, The Eagles and other artists from the 1960s and ’70s will be featured during the Smithtown public library’s summer concert series.
The series opens at 8 p.m. today with Beatles tribute band Strawberry Fields. Free shows will take place weekly through Aug. 16 on the lawn of the library’s Smithtown branch, on the northeast corner of East Main Street and state Route 25A.
Future shows include Stewart’s hits performed by Rick Larrimore on July 12; “The Sixties Show” on July 19; Eagles tribute band Desert Highway on July 26; oldies by Risky Business on Aug. 2; Dr. K’s Motown Revue on Aug. 9, and Billy Joel tribute band Big Shot on Aug. 16.
Call 631-265-3994 or visit smithlib.org for updates. The series, named for the late library supporter Dennis Cannataro, is underwritten by a Suffolk County grant.
