Oceanside resident Danielle Reed will perform her “Sounds That Astound” concert at 2 p.m. March 13 at the East Meadow Public Library.

Reed, 22, a Hofstra University graduate, earned international fame in 2007 when she competed in the Korean television program “Korea Sings,” earning the nickname “the American Barbie Doll.”  Last year she received a Pathfinder Award from the Town of Hempstead for her contribution to the community.

Reed sings in 18 languages and plays 20 instruments. Her library performance will include patriotic songs, Broadway tunes and Irish favorites to help celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

The concert is free, but preregistration is required and begins March 7. Call the East Meadow Public Library, 1886 Front St., at 516-794-2570, ext. 560. There is a two-person maximum per registration.
