The towns of Brookhaven and Huntington have both announced snow delays ahead of the winter storm that's expected to hit Long Island early on Thursday, while some school districts are already posting delays or closings.

Brookhaven said its town senior and recreation centers, including the aquatic center in Mastic, would delay opening by two hours and open at 11 a.m.

Brookhaven's nutrition programs and jitney service are suspended on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Huntington Town Hall won't open until 10:30 a.m. because of the weather.

Hempstead also announced cancellations ahead of the storm. The town said Thursday's ANCHOR evening fitness program at the Grand Avenue Middle School in Bellmore won't take place.
