Presiding over her first town board meeting Thursday, new North Hempstead Supervisor Judi Bosworth had a honeymoon of sorts.
Her staff appointments sailed through at the special town board meeting, passing 6-0.
Among them: Robert Troiano, most recently the Nassau County legislator from Westbury, becomes the town’s director of operations; Cindy Cardinal, Bosworth’s legislative assistant, will be her chief of staff; and Aline Khatchadourian, most recently the director of finance for the minority caucus in the Nassau County Legislature, will be director of finance.
Troiano, a town board member for six years, said, “It’s good to come home."
Elizabeth Dvorkin Botwin, most recently the deputy commissioner for administration and planning for New York City, was appointed town attorney.
The position of deputy supervisor has yet to be filled; Bosworth has said she will likely appoint someone already working in the town and that official will hold dual roles.
The honeymoon is not likely to last long, with a blizzard forecast. Bosworth encouraged town residents to band together if some are struggling, and encouraged residents to go to warming stations if needed.
