Southampton meetings to discuss waterfront

Southampton Town will hold two meetings later this month to discuss and get public input on its waterfront protection program.

The meetings will address issues dealing with the town’s waterfront ecological future, including: flooding, erosion, the rise of sea levels, public access to water, recreation, harbor management and shellfish and water quality, as well as historic and cultural issues related to the waterfront, according to a town news release.

The first meeting will be Oct. 26 at the Hampton Bays Senior Center and the second will be held Oct. 27 at the Bridgehampton Senior Center. Each meeting will run from 6 to 8 p.m.

More information about the Waterfront Protection Plan is available at www.waterfrontprotectionsouthampton.org.
