The Civic Association of the Setaukets and Stony Brook will hold its 18th annual spring cleanup at the Stony Brook LIRR Station April 30.

The event, hosted by the civic association’s Greening of 25A committee, will take place from 8 a.m. to noon, rain or shine, at the station, on North Country Road near Stony Brook University.

The committee “has successfully cared for the grounds of the station for the past 17 years” and uses the event to “boast that we have the best-looking, best-maintained” LIRR station on Long Island, said civic association president Kara Hahn.

The committee is looking for volunteers to help trim bushes, collect trash, rake leaves, spread mulch, plant flowers, sweep and weed, Hahn said.

Anyone interested in volunteering can call Hahn at 516-639-3788 or e-mail karahahn@optonline.net.
