Mega Millions winner to be revealed Friday

Friday, New York State Lottery officials said, they'll reveal the Mega Millions winner at the Middle Island King Kullen where the winning ticket was sold. The jackpot's lump-sum cash option -- a one-time payment instead of an annuity paid over 26 years -- is worth $153.3 million before taxes. -- WILLIAM MURPHY AND KERI MURAKAMI

Long Island under wind advisory; snow possible this weekend

Long Island is under a wind advisory Friday morning, with the National Weather Service warning of strong winds of 20 to 30 mph, and gusts of up to 50 mph possible.

The advisory is in effect until midnight.

An overnight cold front from the northwest may mean peak winds between 10 and 11 a.m. Friday, he said.

SOUTHAMPTON TOWN

LINDENHURST

Landscaper Law: The Lindenhurst Village board will meet Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Village Hall (430 S. Wellwood Ave.) and will conduct a public hearing on a proposed law that would require landscapers working in the village to dispose of any grass clippings, branches or other material rather than leaving them at the curb or in the street.
