Official: Mega Millions winner comes forward
The winner of the largest lottery jackpot in Long Island history, $208 million, has come forward with the ticket purchased at King Kullen, said a spokesman for the supermarket chain.

Heavy rain, wind forecast for Long Island
A storm front from the South is moving toward Long Island, bringing rain and gusting winds and prompting a wind advisory for Suffolk County beginning Thursday morning, the National Weather Service said.
The storm means heavy rain for many states along the Atlantic Seaboard, from the Carolinas to New England. -- GARY DYMSKI

Water Authority: The Water Authority of Southern Nassau County will meet Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Merrick Park Golf Course Clubhouse (2550A Clubhouse Rd.).
