Cops seek suspect
Police are looking for a man they said stole cold medicine and toothpaste from a South Huntington pharmacy in December, but dropped the stolen goods as he fled after being confronted by a store patron. -- John Valenti

Commissioner appointments.
The Islip Town Board meets at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Town Hall, 55 Main St. The agenda includes appointing recently retired Suffolk  Police Officer Gregory Byrne as commissioner of public safety, and former Suffolk Parks Commissioner Joseph Montuori as town parks commissioner. GARDEN CITY
School repairs.
