Huntington Station
Peace march. A Latino organization will lead a peace march Saturday in the wake of last Sunday’s shooting of three men in Huntington Station. The march starts at 9 a.m. at the intersection of New York Avenue and East Ninth Street. Check Denise M. Bonilla’s Twitter updates @denisebonilla.

Mount Sinai
Tree lighting. The Mount Sinai Heritage Trust’s Holiday Tree Lighting will take place Sunday at 5 p.m. at Heritage Park on Mount Sinai-Coram Road. The trust also will release the results of a survey and announce whether next year’s ceremony will be called Christmas Tree Lighting or Holiday Tree Lighting. Nassau County
Bus hearing. A public hearing on the privatization of Long Island Bus will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the legislative chambers of the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building (1550 Franklin Ave., Mineola). Nassau County plans to hire Veolia Transportation to run the county’s bus system, to be known as Nassau Inter-County Express Bus, or NICE Bus. Check Alfonso A. Castillo’s updates at newsday.com.
