Suffolk cops hold community meetings
The Suffolk Police Department invites residents to attend its final community meetings for the year.
The meeting for the Sixth Precinct, which serves the northern end of Brookhaven Town and the villages of Old Field, Poquott, Belle Terre and Port Jefferson, will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 14 at precinct headquarters, 400 Middle Country Rd., Selden.
The final 2010 meetings for the Third Precinct -- the western end of Islip Town and Brightwaters Village -- and Fifth Precinct -- the southern end of Brookhaven, eastern edge of Islip and Patchogue and Bellport villages -- were Tuesday.
The remaining meeting times for the other precincts can be obtained online or by calling the department's Community Outreach Bureau at 631-852-6109. A schedule for 2011 has not yet been created.
