Southampton Town Supervisor Anna Throne-Holst will replace recently departed Brookhaven Supervisor Mark Lesko as chair of the Suffolk County Supervisors’ Association.

Islip Town Supervisor Tom Croci was named vice chair, a post held by Throne-Holst.

Lesko resigned his Brookhaven post Friday to take on the job of executive director of Accelerate Long Island, an offshoot of the nonprofit Long Island Association, which was formed to promote a vibrant technology economy on Long Island. The Suffolk County Supervisors’ Association is made up of the county’s 10 town leaders who work on issues that go beyond geographical boundaries.

“When we revived this organization last year we committed to addressing three priority areas; water quality protection, reducing health care costs, and achieving cost savings through shared services,” Throne-Holst said in a statement. “These topics remain the key focus of our organization.”
