Sunny skies, 50-degree temps for LI

Long Islanders can expect to enjoy mostly sunny skies and highs in the low 50s Sunday.

But it will be a little breezy, with a west wind of 15-20 mph, gusting up to 30 mph at times.

The dry conditions will extend into the work week, though there'll be a chance of rain Wednesday.

The record high for March 13 is 57 degrees set in 2006. The record low is 23 degrees set in 1998.

This day in weather history:

1989:- Unseasonably warm weather hit the southwestern U.S. There were record high temperatures of 88 degrees in Tucson, Ariz. And in southwest Texas, the temperatures soared from 46 degrees at 8 a.m. to 90 degrees by 11 a.m.
