The Farmingdale village board has approved two special-use permits for new businesses.
One would allow a medical spa proposed for a vacant office site at 374 Fulton St. to offer massages.

The second would allow the Dark Horse Tavern to open in the former Blimpie storefront at 273 Main St. The village is still discussing a proposal for an outdoor beer garden at the tavern.

In other action Monday night, the board scheduled a hearing for Nov. 4 on a proposal by the Living Faith Christian Church to expand its parking lot at 25 Hempstead Tpke. The church has leased space from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority at the site on the north side of the road west of Merritts Lane so it can increase from 247 to 380 paved spaces.

The church also has 55 seasonal parking spaces at a nearby site.
