The Poll: Could you handle the 150-minute English test?

While the percentage of Long Island students in grades 3-8 passing state English test scores has dipped for the second straight year, some educators say the latest decline in these scores might be explained, in part, by the fact that tests were twice as long, with more multiple-choice and essay questions.

In fact, the test for third-graders doubled to 150 minutes.
