The long-awaited “The Space at Westbury” will finally make its debut, with doors opening Tuesday, 12 years after the Tudor-style theater’s closure.

The new $10 million state-of-the-art performance is a repurposing of the 1927 brick-and-timber theater that was a landmark on Post Avenue until it was condemned and became a blight.

The Tuesday event is for invited media and arts industry members.

The theater unveiled its slate of shows: On Oct. 4, Fountains of Wayne, Soul Asylum, with special guest Evan Dando; Oct. 11, Stephen Lynch; Oct. 16: An Evening with Rickie Lee Jones; Oct. 26, Dr. John & The Nite Trippers; and Dec. 20, Funky Meters.
