State Sen. Jack Martins (R-Mineola) plans to host a three-on-three basketball tournament Saturday in Elmont.

The tournament, for fifth-graders up to college students, will be held at the Dutch Broadway School in Elmont.

Martins said in a statement that he expects more than 4,500 residents to attend the event, which will also include slam dunk and three-point contests.

“This is a midsummer tradition that exhibits exceptional athletic ability, sportsmanship and camaraderie,” Martins said in a statement.

The event is free. The rain date is scheduled for the following day.

Tip off is at 10 a.m. at Dutch Broadway School, 1880 Dutch Broadway, Elmont, with registration scheduled to begin at 9:30, organizers said.
