Over the next four days, I’ll continue my exploration of Valley Stream, an incorporated village in southwest Nassau County, speaking to residents and finding what makes the community tick, while tackling a piece on its history.

Today, I’m meeting with Kimberly Thomas, a local mother who runs the valleystreammom.com blog, at Henry Waldinger Memorial Library at 11 a.m.

After that, I’m sitting down with Valley Stream schools Superintendent Bill Heidenreich to and then with Village Mayor Edwin Fare for an on-camera interview.

In between, I will continue shooting video in Valley Stream for the historical documentary that will run on newsday.com on Wednesday.

Later in the week, I’ll be talking with actor and comedian Jim Breuer, Sip This owners David Sabatino and Stephanie Pontillo, Debbi Gyulay, president of Valley Stream Chamber of Commerce, and others.

Also, thank you for all the lunch recommendations on Monday. I had a tasty tuna sandwich with a macaroni salad at Mitchell’s Restaurant on Rockaway Avenue. Where should I go next?

Feel free to reach out to me via Twitter, email, or the comments below.

And keep come back here throughout the day for updates.
