Town of Huntington will now charge for filming

If you’re planning to film a movie or TV show in the Town of Huntington, it’s going to cost you. The town has enacted a law requiring a permit in order to film. A full day of filming will cost $500, half a day $250.

Other fees have also gone up. A fireworks display permit doubled in cost to $600. Residents will pay about 3 percent more for parks and recreation applications and processing fees. Annual commuter parking permits are going up $10 to $50.

And boat owners will pay a $200 fee for the row-out program which will include a boat rack, mooring space, use of the Gold Star dock and a beach permit sticker.
