Nassau County and Healthplex, the largest dental insurance company in the state, will hold a job fair next week to look for about 100 new hires for the Uniondale company.
“Attracting new employers, supporting small-business development and expanding our job base is essential to Nassau’s future,” County Executive Edward Mangano said.
The job fair will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 21 in the Ceremonial Chamber at county headquarters in Mineola.
About half of the new hires will be customer service representatives, Healthplex president Martin Kane said.
“The others will include a mix of computer and mailroom personnel, as well as claim adjudicators and dental hygienists,” he said, adding that salaries will range from $30,000 to $125,000 annually.
Unionized, with nearly 400 employees, the 37-year-old firm is expecting about 450,000 new customers following the recent state mandate that all Medicaid recipients go into a “managed care” program, Kane said. He did not say which HMO is involved in the deal.
