Event to focus on Fire Island’s recovery
The New York Rising Community Reconstruction Program will host a public event focused on Fire Island’s recovery from recent severe storms such as superstorm Sandy and Tropical Storm Irene.

The event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Bay Shore-Brightwaters Library, 1 South Country Rd., Brightwaters.

The event is an open house and residents are encouraged to drop in at any point. Residents can share information and recommendations with the Community Reconstruction Planning Committee.
