Rockville Centre’s village government has established a foundation to accept donations to help victims of superstorm Sandy.
Mayor Francis X. Murray and village trustees recently announced the creation of RVC Foundation.
The foundation is working with RVC H.O.M.E., a group created by local residents to provide money and assistance to storm victims, village officials said.
“Donations will allow RVC H.O.M.E. to offer specific financial support, wholesome meals and, in some instances, the replacement of home essentials to these families,” village officials said in a statement.
RVC H.O.M.E., which stands for Helping Others Means Everything, has “collected and delivered hundreds of lights, batteries, meals, and other essential supplies to over 75 families who remained in the dark,” the village’s statement said.
Checks to the RVC Foundation can be mailed to RVC H.O.M.E., P.O. Box 950, Rockville Centre, NY 11571. Money can also be donated at village hall, at One College Place in Rockville Centre.
