Volunteers needed for Vietnam exhibit

Organizers of the traveling Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall are looking for volunteers for its arrival and exhibit at the Northport Veterans Affairs Medical Center in the fall.

Volunteers are needed Oct. 24 through Oct. 30. Individuals and volunteer teams are welcome.

The Dignity Memorial Vietnam Wall, 240 feet long and 8 feet high, is a three-quarter-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. It will be open to visitors 24 hours a day from Friday, Oct. 28, through Sunday, Oct. 30.

Organizers say the Northport stop is the first time the memorial wall will be displayed at a veterans facility. The VA facility is at 79 Middleville Rd.
