OYSTER BAY: REZONING. The Oyster Bay Town Board holds a public hearing Tuesday, Feb. 4, to consider rezoning for a proposed 143.5-acre residential development in Plainview that drew community opposition years ago. New York Islanders owner Charles Wang in 2007 scrapped a proposal for the site with developer Scott Rechler. Follow Ted Phillips Twitter updates @tedephillips.

KINGS PARK: SCHOOL BUDGET. The Kings Park Board of Education will hold its first school budget workshop of the year on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 7:30 p.m. at Kings Park High School, 200 Route 25A. Check for Lauren R. Harrison’s updates.

RIVERHEAD: SOBER HOME. The Riverhead Town Board will hold a public hearing Tuesday, Feb. 4, on a request for a special permit to allow Mainstream House LLC to convert a building on Main Street from office and retail use to a seven-bedroom sober recovery home. LIRR DELAYED. The Long Island Rail Road has suspended westbound service from Jamaica to Penn Station and on the Port Washington branch from Woodside to Penn Station because of a smoke condition in one of the East River tunnels.


CLEAR SKIES TO FOLLOW SNOW. Tonight will be partly cloudy with a low of 14 degrees;  5 degrees with a wind chill factor.


The Suffolk County Water Authority is currently reporting three water main breaks.

  SMITHTOWN, New Mill Road. About 18 residences affected by a shutdown of water services as crews work on repairs.
  BAY SHORE, Courtland Drive. About 20 residences affected by a shutdown of water services as crews work on making repairs.
  EAST HAMPTON, Conklin Terrace. About 50 residents impacted by shutdown of water services related to emergency repairs.

A message posted on the SCWA website warned customers in these areas that they might experience no water service, low water pressure and discolored water for a period of time.


SAYVILLE. Accident blocking the right lane on Sunrise Highway westbound between Waverly Avenue (Exit 51) and Route 454 (Exit 51).

YAPHANK. Accident on Patchogue-Yaphank Road at the LIE.

JONES BEACH. Construction work on Ocean Parkway westbound after Robert Moses Causeway and to Wantagh Parkway in Jones Beach.
