Coping with the aftermath of Hurricane Irene has left in question whether some Long Island  towns and local governments will go ahead with meetings scheduled for Monday. Here are some of those that may be affected:

The Town of Babylon planning board’s meeting was schedule for 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 200 E. Sunrise Hwy., Lindenhurst. Denise Bonilla will provide up-to-date information on the meeting on her Twitter feed @denisebonilla.

The  Northport-East Northport school board was to meet tonight at 7:30 p.m.  at the William J. Brosnan School, 158 Laurel Ave., Northport. Jennifer Barrios will report on any meeting changes @Newsday_ToH.

Civic groups opposed to Nassau County’s plan to privatize the Long Island Bus are to hold a “people’s hearing” Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Ethical Humanist Society, 38 Old Country Rd., Garden City. Check Alfonso Castillo’s updates @NewsdayAlfonso.
