Long Island pro wrestling icon and best-selling author Mick Foley is bringing some laughs to Bellmore Wednesday night to raise funds for a very serious cause.
Foley, who has been dabbling in stand-up comedy on-and-off for the past two-and-a-half years, will do a set at The Brokerage (2797 Merrick Rd.). The show starts at 8 p.m., and half of all ticket sales will go to the Rape, Abuse and Incest National Network (RAINN).
Foley’s comedy mentor, “30 Rock” star Judah Friedlander (Frank), will precede Foley on stage.
“He’s got an absolutely hilarious stand-up character," Foley said of Friedlander. "The idea that I’m going try to go on after Judah is what I likened before to [failed wrestling characters] Oz and Kazmaier trying to follow Shawn Michaels and Undertaker at WrestleMania. There’s nothing like having one of the best guys in the business for other people to compare my set to.”
