A storm is rolling into the region just in time to make one the busiest travel days of the year even more frustrating for anyone riding the highways or rushing to an airport.
The good news: It's a mostly rain event on Long Island, although the North Shore could compile a few inches of snow.
JFK/LAGUARDIA AIRPORT ADVISORY
There is a Traffic Management Program in effect for traffic arriving John F Kennedy International Airport, New York, NY (JFK). This is causing some arriving flights to be delayed an average of 1 hour and 29 minutes.

Sound Avenue in Baiting Hollow is closed between Fresh Pond Avenue and Edwards Avenue as police investigate a teo-car collision that occurred earlier this morning. For more coverage, click here: http://nwsdy.li/1ttyupU
If you're headed into the five boroughs, be warned, traffic has already slowed in Queens and Brooklyn. Also, expect some heavy delays on the Cross Bronx Expressway.

For those of you traveling out of state this morning, here are some traffic updates in the tri-state area:
NEW YORK CITY: There are ramp restrictions on the Holland Tunnel outbound between Hudson Street and Canal Street.
NEWARK: The bridge is closed on Rt 1-9 (Including Pulaski Skyway & Covered Rdway/Rt-139) northbound between Pulaski Skyway/Newark Side and the Tonnelle Circle in Jersey City.
Manhasset schools will be out early Wednesday. The Manhasset Secondary School is out at 12:40 p.m., and Munsey Park Elementary School students are free at 1 p.m. The district's Shelter Rock Elementary School's students are free to go at 12:20 p.m.
