Babylon branch service restored after train hits person near Rockville Centre, LIRR says

Service on the Long Island Rail Road's Babylon branch has been restored, after trains were canceled or delayed Wednesday morning because an individual was struck by a train near the Rockville Centre station, the railroad said.

Police have concluded their investigation, the railroad said, and the delays were expected to "subside shortly."

The condition of the person who was hit was not available.
