The Long Island Rail Road was on or close to schedule through Merillon Avenue in Garden City on Tuesday morning after a vehicle struck an LIRR bridge.

The Ronkonkoma, Port Jefferson and Oyster Bay branches were back on schedule as of 8 a.m., the railroad said.

Just before 7 a.m., riders on those branches were advised to expect delays. The Merillon Avenue station is on the Port Jefferson line.

LIRR personnel inspected the bridge and cleared trains to operate at full speed as of 7:45 a.m. after being slowed down for safety, the railroad said. Earlier, the railroad warned of 10- to 15-minute delays through the area.
