These are the proposed service cuts to Long Island Rail Road and Long Island Bus service being considered by the Metropolitan Transit Authority. The source for all information is the MTA.

Proposed cuts to Long Island Railroad Service

Babylon Combine four Peak trains into two Peak trains. The 7:40 a.m. from Seaford will fold into the 7:33 a.m. out of Babylon with added stops. The 4:57 p.m. will take the 5:03 p.m. with added stops. May 2010
Hempstead, Ronkonkoma Reduce length of two trains by 2 cars each May 2010
Port Washington Combine two p.m. peak trains Customers can use the 4:43 p.m. or 4:46 p.m. Penn Station trains. May 2010
Long Beach Cancel One p.m. peak train, either a 5:23 p.m. train at Penn Station or a 5:49 p.m. train at Atlantic Terminal May 2010
Belmont Discontinue Belmont Park service Wednesday-Sunday (except for Belmont Stakes) May 2010
Oyster Bay Cancel one roundtrip each day on weekends May 2010
Port Jefferson Partially cancel one p.m. peak diesel train. Passengers traveling east of Huntington will need to switch to a diesel train at that location May 2010
Ronkonkoma Cancel one p.m. peak Ronkonkoma Branch train from Atlantic Avenue Terminal at 4:34 p.m. September 2010
Greenport (Ronkonkoma) Discontinue all service between Ronkonkoma and Greenport on non-summer weekends September 2010
Port Washington Shift from Half-Hourly to hourly off-peak service on weekdays September 2010
