Wanted: Pedestrian fatal; store larceny

Nassau police and its Crime Stoppers department are looking for any information regarding a pedestrian fatal accident that happened in Merrick in June.

Police say that about 1:30 a.m. on June 20, William Long was struck by the driver of a 2007 or 2008 maroon Nissan Altima; the suspects then left the scene.

Long died of his injuries.

The car would likely have had damage to the driver-side body and mirror, police said.

The incident occurred on the northbound side of Babylon Turnpike near Smith Street, police said.

Suffolk police are looking for three men wanted in a Bay Shore retail store larceny case.

Police say that at about 5 p.m. on May 18, three suspects were seen on surveillance video in the men's jeans department at JCPenney in the Westfield Mall in Bay Shore taking $900 worth of jeans.

The men then left the store without paying for them, and tried to leave in a green 1997 Infiniti Q45 before being confronted by store security.
