Wanted: Pocketbook taken; illegal credit card use

Crime Stoppers and the Nassau County Police Department are looking for a suspect wanted in connection with the theft of a pocketbook at a Laundromat in Baldwin.

According to police, at 9:30 a.m. on April 27, a man seen inside the Ms. Sponge Bob Laundromat at 2406 Grand Ave. took a pocketbook containing currency and assorted personal items before leaving the scene.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are looking for a suspect accused of using a stolen credit card that was taken from a another woman's purse in Port Jefferson.

Police say that on May 7 a woman reported her American Express card was used to purchase $250 worth of merchandise at Best Buy on the Sunrise Highway north service road in Patchogue, and make a purchase of about $450 at Waldbaum's on the Sunrise Highway south service road in Patchogue.

The suspect is described as being thin with dark hair. She was wearing a blue shirt, black leggings, black ballet-style flat shoes and dark-framed sunglasses.
