Wanted: Stolen debit cards; supermarket theft

Nassau County police and its Crime Stoppers department are looking for a man wanted for allegedly robbing a store in Levittown.

Police say that at 4:05 p.m. on Oct. 1, the male suspect was seen inside the CVS at 646 Wantagh Ave., where he allegedly took five Green Dot prepaid debit cards and tried to leave the store without paying. When confronted by a store employee, the suspect allegedly pushed the employee into a door causing injury to the victim's back. The suspect then fled in a red Toyota Camry with the stolen merchandise.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and the Seventh Precinct Crime Section are looking for a man and a woman wanted for allegedly stealing merchandise from a Middle Island supermarket.

Police say that at 8:40 p.m. on Sept. 28, a female suspect left the King Kullen Supermarket at 1235 Middle Country Rd., with about $800 worth of items without paying. When approached by store employees, the woman and a man fled in a tan or gold Ford Taurus or Mercury.

The female suspect was described as being between 30 and 40 years old, with long black hair. She was wearing a black sweatshirt with white stripes and white sneakers. The male suspect was described as about 45 years old, heavy set, with a mustache. He was wearing a white shirt, dark pants and a baseball cap.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000.00 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS (8477). All calls will be kept confidential.
