Wanted: Stolen watches; counterfeiting

Crime Stoppers and the Nassau County Police Department are looking for two suspects in connection with the theft of merchandise at an East Garden City store.

Police say that at 8:55 p.m. on Jan. 14, two men were seen inside the Nordstrom department store at 630 Old County Rd. They allegedly took six watches valued at $779.56 then exited the store without paying.

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at its toll-free and confidential hotline: 800-244-TIPS (8477), Crime Stoppers Unit Case No. 55-13. Crime Stoppers offers up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.


Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and the Police Department's Fifth Squad detectives are looking for a suspect in connection with the use of counterfeit money at a North Patchogue supermarket.

According to police, at 6:15 p.m. on Sept. 29, 2012, a man entered Waldbaum's at 440 W. Sunrise Hwy. and used three fake $100 bills to complete a Western Union money transaction.

The man, described as being of average build with short black hair, was seen wearing a light-colored shirt and brown pants.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS (8477). All calls will be kept confidential.
