There are wedding dates that friends, family and the happy couple anticipate.

Then, there are dates that brides and grooms and much of the social media world anticipate, with Twitter already buzzing about Saturday, Dec. 13, also known by the hashtag ሓ14.

The date "is memorable, but it's also something everyone can remember from afar -- it's almost like a brand," said Jamie Cohen, 33, new media program coordinator at Molloy College. He and his fiancee, Nickie Samartino, 27, are marrying Saturday on the last such sequenced date this century, with the next not rolling around until Jan. 2, 2103.

The couple, who met as students at Hofstra University and now live in Astoria, have made the hashtags #nickieandjamie and ሓ14 part of their wedding plans. The tags will be on signs at the event, with hopes that attendees will shoot photos to post on Instagram.

Cohen and his bride-to-be "are heavy Instagrammers," he said, but expect to be far too preoccupied to post during the event, so are counting on friends and family.

Five photos tagged with their names could be found on Instagram on Friday afternoonafternoon. The number tagged with the 12/13/14 date -- more than 16,500.

An estimated 30,000 couples will be saying "I do" on Saturday, according to David's Bridal, the Conshohocken, Pennsylvania-based chain that has more than 13,700 weddings registered for the day. The same Saturday last year-- 12/14/13 -- had 6,621 weddings registered.

This year's date "was like the perfect alignment" -- the last of its kind for a while and falling on a Saturday, said Farra D'Orazio, David's Bridal spokeswoman.

Also tying the knot today are Brentwood residents Katie Grossman, 26, and Tom Gernon, 30, whose hashtag for Instagram and other sites -- #TomKat121314 -- will be featured on signage at their wedding.

In agreement with Cohen, Grossman, a receptionist in a surgeon's office, says the 12/13/14 date "is like a brand."

Indeed, her wedding logo, reading "December 13, 2014 -- Katie & Thomas," is printed "on everything possible that could have writing on it," she said, including the wedding invitation, bar signs, favor tags, napkins and welcome bags for hotel guests.

"I like knowing that our date is popular," she said.

Of course, brides and grooms should be prepared to share the spotlight, because Saturday could be a big day for others, too.

For instance, Taylor Swift -- with 15 million Instagram and 48 million Twitter followers and 72 million Facebook likers -- will be turning 25. #HappyBirthdayTaylor.
