MTA weekend service changes: What to know before riding the subway

Here are all the MTA weekend service changes you should know about.

Holiday weekends mean extended MTA service changes. Here's a look at how the subways will run Friday night to Tuesday morning.

No. 1 trains

Normal weekend service.

No. 2 trains

Normal weekend service.

No. 3 trains

Normal weekend service.

No. 4 trains

Uptown trains in Manhattan will run express from Brooklyn Bridge to 14th Street-Union Square.

Manhattan-bound trains in the Bronx will skip 176th Street, Mt. Eden Avenue, 170th, 167th and 161st streets (3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Monday).

Trains will run every 16 minutes between 125th Street in Manhattan and Woodlawn in the Bronx (8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Monday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday).

No. 5 trains

Trains will run every 20 minutes.

No. 6 trains

Pelham Bay Park-bound trains in Manhattan will run express from Brooklyn Bridge to 14th Street-Union Square.

Brooklyn Bridge-bound trains in the Bronx will run express from Pelham Bay Park to Parkchester (6:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday).

No. 7 trains

Normal weekend service.

A trains

Uptown trains in Manhattan will skip 72nd, 81st, 86th, 96th, 110th, 116th, 135th, 155th and 163rd streets.

Trains in both directions will skip 103rd Street in Manhattan.

Downtown trains in Manhattan will stop at 163rd, 155th and 135th streets.

Trains will run every 10 minutes between 207th Street and Rockaway Boulevard (days and evenings Saturday and Monday).

C trains

Uptown trains in Manhattan will skip 72nd, 81st, 86th, 96th, 110th and 116th streets.

Trains in both directions will skip 103rd Street in Manhattan.

Service between 145th and 168th streets in Manhattan will be replaced by the A train.

Trains will run every 12 minutes (days and evenings).

Uptown trains in Manhattan will skip 135th Street (10 to 11:30 p.m. Monday).

E trains

Trains in Queens will run local in both directions between Queens Plaza and 71st Avenue.

B trains

The B does not run on weekends.

D trains

Uptown trains in Manhattan will stop at 135th Street.

Trains will run every 12 minutes (days and evenings).

F trains

Trains will run between Jamaica-179th Street In Queens and Church Avenue in Brooklyn. Service between Church and Stillwell avenues in Brooklyn will be replaced by free shuttle buses.

Trains in Queens will run local in both directions between 21st Street-Queensbridge and 71st Avenue.

M trains

Service in Manhattan will be extended to the 96th Street Q train station.

G trains

Normal weekend service.

J trains

Trains will run between Broad Street in Manhattan and Crescent Street in Brooklyn. Service between Crescent Street in Brooklyn and Jamaica Center in Queens will replaced by E trains and free shuttle buses (3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Monday).

L trains

Trains in Brooklyn will run between Rockaway Parkway and Broadway Junction. Service between Broadway Junction in Brooklyn and Eighth Avenue in Manhattan will be replaced by the M14 and free shuttle buses.

N trains

Downtown trains in Manhattan will skip 49th Street (11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday).

Trains will run between Stillwell Avenue in Brooklyn and Queensboro Plaza in Queens. Service between Queensboro Plaza and Ditmars Boulevard in Queens will be replaced by free shuttle buses (3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday).

Trains will run every 12 minutes (days and evenings).

Q trains

Uptown trains in Manhattan will make local stops at Prince, Eighth, 23rd and 28th streets.

Downtown trains in Manhattan will skip 49th Street (11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday).

Trains will run approximately every 10 minutes (days and evenings).

R trains

Downtown trains in Manhattan will skip 49th Street (Saturday and Sunday).

W trains

The W does not run on weekends.

S shuttle

Normal weekend service.

Z trains

The Z does not run on weekends.
