MTV has decided to pull a scene from the next episode of "Jersey Shore" that shows a Deer Park man punching a female cast member in the face, two magazines said.

A clip of the incident showed a man slugging Nicole Polizzi, known as Snooki, in the face at a bar in Seaside Heights, N.J., over the summer.

Police said the man who threw the punch was Bradley Ferro, 23, of Deer Park.

Ferro is a teacher at North Queens Community High School, school officials said. He was a briefly a substitute teacher at Deer Park High School.

Last month, Ferro pleaded guilty to slugging Polizzi after she argued with him over a beer he swiped from her.

The network said the episode will indicate what happened that night and plans to air a message at the end of the show listing resources for those in abusive relationships, according to the Web sites for TV Guide and US Magazine.

"What happened to 'Snooki' was a crime and obviously extremely disturbing," MTV said in a statement Friday. "After hearing from our viewers, further consulting with experts on the issue of violence, and seeing how the video footage has been taken out of context to not show the severity of this act or the resulting consequences, MTV has decided not to air 'Snooki' being physically punched in next week's episode."
