Feeling a little gloomy, are you, because you didn’t win that half-billion dollar Mega Millions jackpot on Friday?

Well, here’s a reason to maybe hit the restart button on your lottery dream: Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot is $311 million.

Interest in the big-jackpot multistate games increases significantly when the grand prize reaches $300 million, lottery experts say.

While Wednesday’s jackpot is well shy of the $540 million in Friday’s Mega game, it ranks 15th among the largest Powerball prizes.

The lump sum value is $221.4 million, before taxes, according to the New York Lottery website.

Odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292,201,338.
