With no winning ticket sold for last weekend’s Powerball jackpot, the grand prize for Wednesday’s drawing climbed to $361 million — the ninth largest in the game’s history, according to lottery officials.
Wednesday’s jackpot is an increase from the $333 million prize on Saturday, when no tickets matched all five numbers — 11, 17, 40, 50, 62 — and the Powerball of 26.
Nationwide, there were three second-prize tickets, each worth $1 million. Those tickets matched the five numbers but missed the Powerball; they were sold in Colorado, Pennsylvania and Virginia, lottery officials said.
Wednesday’s lump-sum payout is $250.3 million, before taxes.
