Milian, Thomas have career day for OSNA

Junior Franklin Milian scored a career-high 41 points and added 16 rebounds for Our Savior New American in an 80-58 non-league win over Upper Room Wednesday in boys basketball.

Freshman Javon Thomas had a school-record 17 assists, breaking the mark of 14 set by Jamar Wilson in 2004. Dauda Samouida added eight points, 17 rebounds and six blocks for OSNA (1-1). Ramel Anderson hit five three-pointers and scored 31 points to lead Upper Room.Flynn lifts St. Mary's. Shannon Flynn (28 points) scored seven straight points, including a layup with 40 seconds left, to lift St. Mary's to a 68-60 win over Sacred Heart in CHSAA girls basketball. Flynn's barrage came during a 16-0 game-ending run. Jessica Mattone made three steals in the final 1:20 and Sarah Kluth had 16 rebounds and seven steals for St. Mary's. Taylor Higgins led Sacred Heart with 20 points.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Chaminade 68, Floral Park 44: Dylan Sinnickson had 18 points and Thomas Morgan 14 for Chaminade (3-2) in non-league. Kevin Hargrove had 10 points and eight rebounds for Chaminade.Portledge 59, Kew Forest 45: Christian Sbarro scored 15 of his 25 points in the first quarter and totaled nine rebounds for Portledge (2-2) in IPPSAL.

Ben Shapiro had 11 points and 10 rebounds, and Mark Dourmashkin chipped in 13 points.Seaford 69, Wheatley 60: Matt Faso and Robert Goldstein each scored 20 points for Seaford (3-0) in non-league. Bill Kempner added 18 points for Seaford. Chris Gould led Wheatley (0-3) with 16.New Hyde Park 84, Island Trees 59: Greg Priest scored 14 points for New Hyde Park. Dan Catapano added 11 points and 12 assists, and Carmelo Carbone chipped in with 10 points and 10 rebounds for New Hyde Park (2-2). Mike Witteck led Island Trees with 13 points.East Meadow 56, Clarke 36: Rob Franzese scored 17 of his 22 points in the first half and went 4-for-5 on three-pointers to lead East Meadow (1-3) in the Clarke Tournament.

Andrew Wilen had 11 points and Matt Gundrum grabbed eight rebounds. Alex Abanavas and Conner McCarthy each scored 18 to account for all of Clarke's points. Wilen and Abanavas were named to the All-Tournament team.

GIRLS BASKETBALLUniondale 47, Farmingdale 42: Siara Lowry scored 14 points, Ifeanyi Ofili added 13 points and Artiana Wydner had nine rebounds for Uniondale (1-0 Nassau Conference AA-I) in an overtime victory over Farmingdale.

Syosset 39, Calhoun 34: Dominique Compito hit two free throws with 18 seconds left to provide the final margin for Syosset (1-0 Conference AA-II).

Calhoun's Danielle Losee (15 points) hit two free throws with 33 seconds remaining and cut Syosset's lead to 37-34. Lauren Maturo had 10 points with 10 rebounds and Victoria Ciavarella added 13 points for the Braves.
